Save. I like Puerto de la Cruz, it's very cosmopolitan, it's no more expensive than any other part of the Island. You can still get 'Menu del dia' for aprrox €7 which normally offesr you choice of starter,main course and desert + wine. There are plenty of tourist type gift shops to explore as well as more up market shops.
